The San

Under a rock overhang in the Drakensberg, eland move across the wall beside figures with antelope heads and a thin red line running from the nose. The line leads into the San healing dance, where a force called nǀom climbs the spine, and into a Kalahari life without surface water, where wealth is kept in gift partners instead of in stores.
