Nenets and Evenks

Late April, on the sea ice of northern western Siberia: several thousand reindeer move ahead and sledges follow, and one sledge carries nothing useful, only the carved figures of the household's guardian spirits. The chapter sets Nenets and Evenks, who keep the same animal in opposite ways, side by side and follows the Evenki word shaman to Europe.
